Terms of Use

Last updated: 20 September 2026

These terms cover your use of the WingIt app for Android and this website. They are written to be read, in the same plain language as the app. By installing or using WingIt you agree to them; if you do not agree, please do not use the app. Our privacy policy explains how your data is handled and is the authority on that.

1. What WingIt is

WingIt is a to-do list and reminders app. Finishing your own tasks becomes wind that helps carry a shared, animated migratory flock along real routes. The flock, its skies, stopovers and postcards are a story we tell together; they are not a game you can lose.

2. The app is free

WingIt is free to download and use, and there are no ads. The to-do list and the shared journey stay free, and no purchase ever buys progress or position within any flock.

WingIt may offer optional extras — for example a touch of beauty shared with everyone flying, or access to further journeys — as one-time purchases or as subscriptions. Buying is entirely up to you. Section 12 covers how purchases, subscriptions and refunds work.

3. Who can use WingIt

You must be at least 13 years old to use WingIt. If you are under the age of consent where you live, please use it with a parent's or guardian's permission. You must also be able to enter into these terms under the law that applies to you.

4. Your content is yours

Your tasks, notes, reminders, and postcards belong to you. We claim no ownership over anything you write. Depending on whether you sign in, that content stays on your device or in your own account; the privacy policy describes exactly which. If you sign in, you give us permission to store and sync that content solely so the app can work for you.

You are responsible for what you put into the app and for using it lawfully.

5. The shared flock

The flock is communal. What you contribute to it (distance, an activity pulse, a chirp) is anonymous and aggregated, and once given it belongs to everyone flying. Distance you have released stays in the shared total even after you delete your account, because it contains nothing personal. Chirps are anonymous single notes heard by everyone flying now; they carry no text and cannot be traced to you.

6. Using WingIt fairly

Please do not attempt to break, overload, spoof, automate, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the service, the shared flock, or other people's use of it. Do not try to extract the app's source code, or to access data that is not yours. We may suspend access for anyone who does, so the flock stays a kind place for everyone else.

7. Your account and your device

An account is optional. If you create one, keep your sign-in details to yourself and let us know if you think someone else has used them. You are responsible for your device and for any mobile-data charges your carrier applies while WingIt syncs. Reminders depend on your device's notification and alarm settings, and on the device being on.

8. Our content

The artwork, skies, species lore, postcards, music, sounds, names, and code that make up WingIt are ours or licensed to us, and stay ours. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app for your own purposes. Please do not copy, sell, or redistribute any part of it. Postcards you receive are yours to keep and share.

9. Services we rely on

WingIt runs on services provided by others: Google Play for distribution and purchases, Supabase for hosting and sign-in, Google for optional sign-in, Mailjet for email delivery, and PostHog for anonymous usage analytics and error reports. Each has its own terms, and the privacy policy says what each one handles.

10. Updates and availability

We improve WingIt often. Updates may change or remove features, and some may be needed to keep using the app. WingIt is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not promise that the app or the shared journey will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free, or preserved indefinitely, and the service may be suspended or discontinued.

WingIt is a to-do app, not a safety-critical or medical tool. Do not rely on it for anything where a missed reminder would cause harm.

11. Limits on liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, for lost data, or for anything arising out of your use of or inability to use WingIt. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited. By installing or using WingIt you agree to these limits automatically, without any separate signature or acknowledgement.

12. Purchases through the store

Optional items in WingIt — whether one-time purchases or subscriptions — are sold and processed through Google Play. That store's terms, prices, taxes, billing and refund rules govern every transaction, not these terms. Google takes the payment and holds your payment details; WingIt never sees your card or bank information. Prices are shown in the store, in your own currency, before you buy, and what each item does is described in the app before you buy it.

Purchases are never required to use WingIt, attribution in the app is always anonymous, and no purchase confers an advantage in any shared journey. Each purchase is confirmed with Google before it is granted, so each one is granted exactly once.

Subscriptions renew through Google Play until you cancel them there. Cancelling stops future charges and keeps what you paid for until the end of the current period. We may add, change or retire optional items over time; anything already paid for is honoured for its term.

Refunds are requested through Google Play, under Google's refund policy, from your Google Play order history — or write to us and we will gladly help you do it. Whatever a purchase has already shared with other travellers stays with them, so a refund returns your money and leaves their sky as it is.

13. Ending your use

You can stop using WingIt at any time, and delete your account or your local data from within Settings. Leaving costs nothing, and deleting your account erases your data from our servers immediately. You are always welcome back.
